Sean and I arrived at the Windows Section of Arches National Park less than half an hour before sunset on Friday, February 17, 2023. We were surprised that, while not exactly busy, the area wasn’t all-but-abandoned, like the part of the Park we’d just come from. The winter sunset was muffled by high, thin clouds that softened and diffused the light as we wandered on the easy paths around the area, taking in the views.
This post is mostly photos.

At ten minutes to six, the sun set.

And by 6pm, we were back in the Jeep, driving out of the Park and into the deepening darkness.
Back in town, we had planned to go to Dewey’s Bar and Grill, which was highly rated. But when we got there, it just seemed to bright. Like, the interior was ridiculously, almost blindingly bright. So we decided to go somewhere else.

That someplace else was El Tapatio for some good, filling Mexican.

It was worth it for the amazing table art alone.

It was the right choice.
Later on we relaxed at the hotel before heading to bed pretty early. The following day would be our last full day in Utah, and we planned to get back up onto the Island in the Sky.
